When I arrived in Luxembourg many, many years ago, I think one of the first bands I saw live was Versus You. Fast forward 21 years and, frankly, not much has changed in terms of their energy, except maybe the length of their Wikipedia page. While most bands from the mid-2000s have long since hung up their leather jackets, Eric Rosenfeld and the boys are still going strong, releasing songs like nobody’s business.

This week, the local punk-rock institution announced their brand new single, "Perfectly Still." (And I’ve lost count of how many singles that makes now, but who’s counting when the hooks are great!)

A first look at "Perfectly Still"

The new track is the second single (the first being "Off Color") from their highly anticipated self-titled album, which is officially slated for release on 1 May 2026.

If you’ve been following the band’s trajectory from their early days of Marathon (2006) through to the gritty melodies of Worn and Loved (2019), "Perfectly Still" feels like a homecoming.

Recorded by Tom Gatti at Unison Studios here in Luxembourg, the track then hopped across the Atlantic to be mixed and mastered by the legendary Jason Livermore at The Blasting Room (the US studio responsible for the sound of punk giants like Rise Against and Descendents). The result? A polished, punchy anthem that proves Versus You haven't lost an ounce of their signature grit.

21 years of not standing still

Despite the title of the new single, Versus You has been anything but "still" over the last two decades. From touring Eastern Europe, to sharing stages with NOFX and The Flatliners, they’ve become the heartbeat of the Grand Duchy’s alternative scene.

The current lineup: Eric Rosenfeld (vocals/guitar), Giordano Bruno (bass), Dario Bruno (guitar), and Jérôme Lux (drums), continues to refine that sweet spot between raw punk energy and pop-punk melody.

Where to hear it

You can check out the lyric video for "Perfectly Still" (featuring artwork by Kim 'The Butcher' Schreiner) right now on YouTube video above. But you should really mark your calendars for 1 May when the new album drops. You'll be able get it on their Bandcamp.

Versus You are also playing a few live shows coming up: Opening for Ignite at Rotondes on 8 May, then Messtival on 9 May, and day 2 of the 3-day Beautiful Decay Festival that runs from 10-12 July.

In a world that changes way too fast, there’s something deeply comforting about knowing Versus You is still out there, plugged in, and turned up to eleven!
