scene.lu band on stange in Luxembourg

All about scene.lu

Do you remember Fuze Luxembourg?  It was the go-to platform supporting and promoting local music to a wider audience just over a decade ago. It built up quite a following and really lived up to its promises in Luxembourg. Sadly, in 2014 it disappeared simply due to those behind it not being able to commit enough time to the project.

Since then, nothing has quite managed to reach the level that project achieved, but hopefully that’s all about to change!

Enter one of the founders of the afore-mentioned project, and a brand-new platform scene.lu.

scene.lu with its motto “Sounds like Luxembourg” is on a mission of “supporting and promoting Luxembourg’s music scene in English, from the heart of the Grand Duchy to the world!”

That means this website you are now looking at, is the home of Luxembourg music news, views, events, and a growing directory of bands and solo musicians in Luxembourg, something that’s sorely missed in the music scene! PLUS scene.lu will be all over social media like a rash with the same missions.

Why start again? A little anecdote

It’s always been at the back of my mind to restart something supporting local music. I missed the scene, and I felt sorry and even a little guilty that Fuze died as it really helped musicians with promotion and support.

Then came the Rockhal 20 years “Encore” concert with a string of blasts from the past to trigger everything and every memory to come flooding back. It was during that amazing gig, I met so many old friends and  acquaintances to trigger that final "déclic" (as you say in French)  to start something again and voilà, scene.lu was born.

Why the name scene.lu?

Well, it is kind of obvious, isn’t it? I mean we always talk about the “music scene” or “making a scene” or “setting a scene”, so it just fits!  And here’s the thing about Luxembourg – you always have to pay attention that it also works in all the relevant languages so scene, scéne, szen, szene, and cena.

So if you want to get in touch with scene.lu for whatever reason, like sending your music news, wanting an event listed, or having your band added to the act directory, then send an email to: contact@scene.lu or find scene.lu  on social media!
