Ready to jazz up your career? Propulsion #5 wants you!

Got a jazz project with ambition, ideas and plenty of room to grow? Then it might be time to put your musical career into motion. Kultur | lx – Arts Council Luxembourg is joining forces with partners across the border for the fifth edition of Propulsion, a career-boosting programme designed to help jazz musicians and related music projects take their next big step.
Bringing together talent from Luxembourg, France’s Grand Est region, French-speaking Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland, Propulsion #5 is all about giving artists the tools, contacts and creative support they need to turn musical ambition into professional momentum.
Propulsion isn't just about playing a few more gigs. It's about developing an artistic identity, getting to grips with the music business, and making the right connections to take a project further.
Two pathways, one big opportunity
This fifth edition offers two different routes, depending on where you are in your musical journey.
PropulsionBANDS is a hands-on development programme for leaders of jazz projects. It's designed to help artists bring their musical ambitions to life, with support ranging from artistic mentoring and professional training to recording opportunities, artistic residencies and concerts.
PropulsionLEAD takes a more experimental approach and is reserved for women and FINTA artists (female, intersex, non-binary, transgender and agender people). It aims to encourage participants to explore artistic leadership, develop their projects and build confidence in taking the reins of their musical careers.

Both programmes share a common goal: helping artists become stronger, more independent and better equipped to navigate the professional music scene.
More than music: building a career
So, what's actually on offer? Participants can expect a combination of artistic guidance and practical professional development, covering some of the key ingredients of a sustainable music career:
Artistic mentoring: guidance and support from experienced music professionals throughout the programme.
Training modules: practical sessions covering project development, production, promotion, distribution and communication.
Professional networking: opportunities to meet artists and industry professionals across the four participating territories.
Industry exposure: participation in professional events and opportunities to showcase projects.
Promotion: support through the partners' professional networks and at key industry events.
For PropulsionBANDS participants, the programme also includes a journey towards producing an EP, with artistic preparation, recording opportunities and live performances. PropulsionLEAD offers tailored artistic support and opportunities to develop and present participants' projects.
It's a chance to work on the music while also learning how to make the music business work for you.
A cross-border launchpad for Luxembourg talent
With four territories involved, Propulsion offers something particularly valuable: the opportunity to look beyond the local scene and build relationships across neighbouring music markets.
For Luxembourg artists, that means potential new contacts, fresh creative perspectives and opportunities to get their music heard by audiences and professionals further afield.
Whether you're leading a jazz band or looking to develop your own artistic project, Propulsion #5 could be the push you need to move from promising project to the next stage of your career.
