No copy-and-paste choruses, no sticking to the script. Luxembourg’s rock-rap crossover crew Dontnod are back with a new track that takes the scenic route, and the journey isn’t over yet.

Autumn is the season for falling leaves, darker evenings and, apparently, musical experimentation. Luxembourg band Dontnod are embracing all three with ‘Faith and Wonders’, their new track landing on 24 October as the third instalment of their four-track project 4 Seasons.

Blending rock, rap and crossover sounds, Dontnod have been building a musical identity that refuses to sit neatly in one genre. Their latest release continues that spirit, teaming up with Sunny Gloom for the songwriting and bringing in Daniel Migliosi on trumpet for an extra layer of colour.

But don’t expect a conventional verse-chorus-verse affair. ‘Faith and Wonders’ deliberately throws the traditional songwriting rulebook out of the window. The track unfolds as one continuous piece, with no vocal or trumpet sections repeated. Its two halves also take distinctly different directions: one features vocals, while the other lets the instrumental arrangements take centre stage.

A sound for the season

As the third release from 4 Seasons, ‘Faith and Wonders’ represents autumn in the band's year-long musical journey. The concept behind the EP is simple but effective: four tracks, each connected to a different season, released throughout 2026.

The project began with ‘Change may Come’, introducing the band's blend of rap, alternative rock and hip-hop influences while exploring themes of growth, uncertainty and holding on when life shifts around you.

Now, with autumn providing the backdrop, Dontnod are taking the concept in a new direction. The collaboration with Sunny Gloom and Migliosi's trumpet contribution add further elements to a track that appears determined to do things its own way.

Behind the scenes, Falcon (Sacha Hanlet) handled the recording and mixing, while Jon Tornblom in Canada took care of the mastering.

Four seasons, one final chapter

‘Faith and Wonders’ is the penultimate instalment of 4 Seasons, with the fourth and final track scheduled for December 2026. That will complete the band's four-part musical journey, giving listeners the full picture of a project designed to unfold over the course of a year rather than arrive all at once.

There is also a chance to catch the new material live before the year is out. Dontnod will perform both ‘Faith and Wonders’ and the as-yet-unreleased December track for the first time on stage on 24 October.

Dontnod meets the orchestra

On the same day as the single's release, Dontnod will take over the Schungfabrik in Tétange for a special collaboration with Harmonie Victoria Tétange. The concert brings the band's rock-rap crossover sound together with the power of a full wind orchestra, with specially arranged versions of the music created for the occasion.

The evening will also feature Luxembourg artists Serge Tonnar and De Läb, who will perform alongside the orchestra, making it a celebration of collaboration and the country's diverse music scene. Tickets are still available at €20 and can be bought now by selecting "Reduced price" on the Paytix website.

It's an intriguing match: the punch and attitude of rap and rock meeting the scale and texture of orchestral music. For a band already happy to ignore genre boundaries, it sounds like a natural next step.

With ‘Faith and Wonders’ arriving on the same day, and the final chapter of 4 Seasons due in December, Dontnod have plenty in store for the months ahead.

Four tracks, four seasons, and a sound that refuses to stand still. Autumn is here, and Dontnod are making sure it doesn't go quietly. Faith and Wonders is available now on Spotify (above).
