Getting ghosted sucks. Unless you’re Celove, in which case you turn it into a catchy, cheeky pop/R&B banger.

The Luxembourg artist’s latest single, “Ghosted”, takes that all-too-familiar experience of being ignored and flips it on its head. Instead of wallowing in disappointment, Celove turns rejection into confidence, humour and a healthy dose of “your loss”.

“I wanted to take a situation that can usually feel frustrating and turn it into something fun, confident and empowering,” says Celove.

And she’s not holding back. The track is packed with attitude, playful lyrics, pop-culture references and plenty of nods to the 2000s, giving the whole thing a deliciously nostalgic Y2K feel.

There are catchy hooks, feminine energy, a little bit of sexiness and a whole lot of fun.

Y2K, but make it Celove

“Ghosted” is firmly rooted in the pop/R&B sounds of the early 2000s, but it’s not simply a nostalgia trip. Celove gives the era a modern makeover, creating a track designed to make you sing, dance and, perhaps most importantly, get over whoever left you hanging.

“I’ve always loved the energy of 2000s pop and R&B, so with this song I really wanted to bring that nostalgic feeling back while still making it feel like Celove today,” she says.

The track was recorded and produced independently in the studio as part of Celove’s own music project. More than just a new single, “Ghosted” marks the beginning of a new chapter, with the artist developing her identity around the pop/R&B sounds and aesthetics of the 2000s.

The visuals follow suit. Expect a playful Y2K aesthetic that matches the song’s cheeky attitude and turns the whole ghosting experience into something much more fun than it probably felt at the time. If someone can’t see your worth, why waste your time? That's 'Ghosted' in a nutshell!

“Ghosted” is out now! Listen on YouTube (above), YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and Tidal.
