Few artists navigate the intersection of RnB, pop, and avant-garde quite like Celove. Following a string of experimental instrumental releases, Celove is back with a haunting new vocal single: "Faux Fur."
A texture of sound
True to its name, "Faux Fur" is a track built on layers. Celove reintroduces her voice as a primary instrument. The track features a cold, clinical beat contrasted by lush, atmospheric synths, a signature of the "new wave" currently bubbling up in the Grand Duchy’s underground.
Lyrically, "Faux Fur" explores themes of artificiality and the masks we wear in a hyper-digital society. It’s a moody, catchy, introspective piece. Talking about her new track, Celove explained, "Faux Fur is a late-night RnB/Pop track with early 2000s energy. It tells a modern love story, the kind that happens between missed calls, headlights in the dark, and hotel check-ins. It mixes intimacy and confidence with a touch of glamour, creating a cinematic, stylish atmosphere that feels both romantic and self-assured".
Earlier this year, Celove also sat down with RTL’s Am Takt to discuss her evolving sound. "Faux Fur" feels like the culmination of that mission, a track that isn't afraid to be strange, slow, and deeply emotive.
Celove continues to bridge the gap between different musical pockets in Luxembourg, proving that the best art often happens when the lines between genres are blurred.
The Verdict: "Faux Fur" is a sophisticated step forward for an artist who refuses to be boxed in. It’s textured and undeniably cool.
