Hold onto your leather jackets, Luxembourg! One of our local classic rock bands, Dapple Rose, has officially blessed our ears. On 15 May, the band dropped their brand-new album, M, across major streaming platforms.
For those who need a quick history lesson, Dapple Rose originally formed way back in 1990, rocking stages before hitting a 25-year hiatus in 1995. When they reunited, they proved that true rock ’n’ roll never dies, it just gets better with age. Now, consisting of the formidable powerhouse lineup of Dave Klein (vocals/guitar), Ady Zeimet (lead guitar), Alain Flammang (drums), Paul Scholtes (bass), and the brilliant backing vocals of Stephanie Berry and Zoé Dias, the band is roaring louder than ever.
A sonic time capsule
Years in the making, M isn’t your average, overly manufactured modern record. It acts as an honest, unfiltered snapshot of the band's epic journey. The track list bridges the gap between eras, seamlessly weaving together songs written decades ago with fresh, contemporary tracks. Dapple Rose opted for pure authenticity rather than a rigid concept. There are no chasing TikTok trends or relying on cheap studio tricks here, just real, organic, character-driven rock music.
Sonically, the album stays fierce to its roots, balancing frantic guitar riffs with deep, emotional vulnerability. Tracks like “Cotton” and “All Because of You” spotlight the band’s raw and sensitive side, while other songs crank up the volume, delivering a hit of pure, unadulterated retro-infused hard rock.
Turning tragedy into triumph
The road to completing M was far from easy. The band was struck by a devastating heartbreak following the tragic passing of founding member and bassist Michel Harperath. While his loss was an immense blow to the band and the local scene, his spirit completely defines the heartbeat of this album.
In a beautiful tribute to his legacy, Michel’s craftsmanship is immortalised on the record as he contributed as a songwriter to three of the tracks and his actual bass playing can still be heard on one of the songs.
The band found the strength to push forward by rallying together with a tight-knit community of Luxembourgish musician friends. These guests stepped into the studio to help finish the recordings, adding a brilliant layer of diversity, camaraderie, and depth to the album's final cut.

Independent, alive, and loud
Produced entirely independently, M is the ultimate testament to Dapple Rose's hands-on DIY ethos. By calling the shots from start to finish, they’ve captured a sound that feels genuinely alive, beautifully unpolished, and dripping with attitude.
M is a monument to resilience, brotherhood, and the enduring power of Luxembourg rock.
