Luxembourg sets stage for Eurovision 2026 at Rockhal for third time

Luxembourg is set to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, marking its third consecutive appearance since returning to the competition in 2024.

The Grand Duchy will once again utilise the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) as its national selection process. The third edition of the LSC is scheduled for 24 January 2026, at the Rockhal . The winner of this event will represent Luxembourg in Vienna, Austria, for the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in May 2026.

Selection process and artist eligibility

The application window for the Luxembourg Song Contest opened on 4 July 2025, and closed on 21 September 2025. Artists wishing to participate were required to meet specific criteria:

• Be Luxembourgish nationals, or have lived in Luxembourg for three consecutive years, or have strong ties to the Luxembourgish cultural scene.

• Be at least 18 years old by January 24, 2026.

• Be available between November 2025 and May 2026.

  
  

Additionally, a "team-up" initiative was introduced to connect artists without songs to songwriters and vice versa, fostering collaboration for potential entries.

In light of ongoing geopolitical tensions, particularly concerning the situation in Gaza, RTL Luxembourg has confirmed that preparations for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 are proceeding as planned. The broadcaster stated that it is closely monitoring developments and is in consultation with the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) regarding the participation of all countries. Despite the uncertainties, Luxembourg remains committed to its participation in the contest.
