From Belval to big stage: Eurovision Songwriting Camp returns

If you’ve been humming Eva Marija’s "Mother Nature" on loop since the Luxembourg Song Contest, we’ve got some juicy news. The secret sauce behind that track (and five other national finalists) is back.

The Rocklab has opened applications for its 2026 Eurovision Songwriting Camp, and it’s shaping up to be a four-day creative bender from 29 May to 2 June, organised with the support of Kultur lx and SACEM Luxembourg and in association with FLAC.

The 24-Hour Challenge

Forget months of "let’s meet up and jam." This is musical speed-dating on steroids. Teams of three or four, mixing local legends with international heavyweights, get exactly one day to write, record, and produce a polished track from scratch. Then, the teams are reshuffled, the coffee is refilled, and they do it all over again, at least that's how it went down in previous editions.

Last year’s camp was a certified hit factory, churning out 28 songs in 4 days. The result? A massive 75% of the LSC 2026 finalists were born right there in the Rocklab studios.

Meet the maestros

This year, the bar is set even higher with some serious Eurovision royalty in the room:

  • Peter Boström: The man, the myth, the legend behind Loreen’s double-crown hits "Euphoria" and "Tattoo".

  • Maria Broberg: The topline genius who helped craft our very own "Mother Nature".

  • Greig Watts & Imad Fares: The facilitators with more Eurovision entries under their belts than most of us have Spotify playlists.

Why you should care

This is where the Luxembourg "sound" is being forged. It’s a melting pot of indie-pop, 80s synth vibes, and multilingual storytelling that’s putting the Grand Duchy back on the global map.

The deadline to apply is 26 April, so if you’re a producer with a killer beat or a songwriter with a notebook full of hooks, it’s time to show your talent.

Here’s how you get in

Think you’ve got the hooks and the hits? Rocklab isn’t just looking for anyone, they’re looking for the next generation of chart-toppers. Below is the lowdown on how to secure your spot.

Who can apply?

Rocklab is opening the doors to a wide mix of talent, not just solo singers dreaming of the spotlight:

  • Songwriters and topliners: If you can spin a melody or craft a lyric that sticks in the brain like glue, this is for you.

  • Producers: We need the wizards behind the DAW who can build a polished track from a scratch vocal in record time.

  • Artists: Performers looking to co-write their own future Eurovision entry are encouraged to throw their hat in the ring.

  • The global mix: While there is a strong focus on Luxembourgish talent and residents, international creators are also welcome to apply to keep the vibes diverse.

The "how-to"

Getting in is a bit like a blind audition. You’ll need to fill out the official application form on the Rocklab website before the 26 April deadline.

The selection committee isn't looking at your follower count, they're looking at your craft. Be ready to submit:

  1. Your best work: Links to past tracks that show off your quality and potential.

  2. Your CV/portfolio: A quick run-through of your professional background or experience in songwriting and production.

  3. The gear: If you’re a producer, you’ll need to bring your own soundcard and laptop. The studio is your playground, but the brain is yours.

Pro Tip: Don't wait until 11:59 PM on the 26th. Spots are limited, and the committee looks for a balanced mix of skills to form the ultimate writing teams!
