Think you've got the next Eurovision anthem? Or maybe you've written the song that could have Europe handing Luxembourg twelve points? Well, this is your moment.
Applications have officially opened for the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 (LSC), the competition that will decide who represents the Grand Duchy at the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Following Luxembourg's successful return to Eurovision in 2024 and three exciting national finals, RTL is once again searching for the country's next Eurovision star.
A brand-new application format
For the first time, RTL has split the selection process into two separate application streams:
Artists can apply to become one of the performers.
Songwriters and composers can submit songs separately.
The new format is designed to create even more opportunities for Luxembourg's growing music scene, allowing great performers and great songwriters to find each other during the selection process rather than requiring artists to already have the perfect Eurovision song in hand.
Who can apply as an artist?
Here’s what you'll need:
Be 18 years old or over by 15 January 2027
Meet at least one Luxembourg connection:
Hold Luxembourg nationality;
Have lived in Luxembourg for at least three consecutive years; or
Demonstrate a strong and active connection to Luxembourg's music scene through regular involvement with recognised cultural organisations, festivals or artists.
Be able to sing live on a large stage.
Be available between November 2026 and May 2027 for rehearsals, promotion and Eurovision commitments.
Perform with no more than six people on stage, in line with Eurovision rules.

Songwriters from anywhere can enter
One of the biggest opportunities this year is for songwriters.
Unlike performers, songwriters don't have to be from Luxembourg. Whether you're based in Luxembourg or halfway around the world, you can submit original songs that could eventually represent the country at Eurovision.
If your song is selected, it could be matched with one of the shortlisted artists during the development workshops later in the process.
What happens after you apply?
Once artist applications close on 20 September 2026, shortlisted performers will be invited to live auditions in mid-October.
An international panel of Eurovision experts will then select the most promising artists to move forward.
Those successful performers will take part in professional workshops alongside coaches, producers and Eurovision specialists, where they'll develop and refine their potential competition entries before the final line-up for Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 is chosen. Artists may perform songs they've written themselves or songs submitted by other composers.

When is LSC 2027?
The Luxembourg Song Contest 2027 is scheduled to take place on 30 January 2027 at the Rockhal, where one lucky act will earn the ticket to represent Luxembourg at Eurovision 2027 in Bulgaria.
How to apply
Applications are now open, with the deadline set for 20 September 2026.
Whether you're a singer, songwriter, producer or all three, this could be your chance to step onto one of the biggest music stages in the world.
Full eligibility rules and the online application forms are available on RTL's Eurovision registration portal: Luxembourg Song Contest registration page
For Luxembourg's musicians, Eurovision is now more accessible. Since the country's return to the contest, we've seen homegrown artists share the stage with some of Europe's biggest pop acts, while local songwriters and producers have gained invaluable international exposure.
So if you've been sitting on that song, or you've always wondered what it would feel like to perform in front of millions of viewers across Europe, this might just be the year to take the leap.
