Three decades ago, a few music lovers looked at an old Renault truck garage in Hollerich and saw more than concrete and grease stains, they saw a stage. Fast forward to 2025, and den Atelier is one of Luxembourg’s most iconic music institutions, celebrating 30 years of unforgettable gigs, legendary crowds, and pure live energy.
How it all began
Back in 1995, Luxembourg’s live scene was pretty quiet. Then came den Atelier; scrappy, ambitious, and determined to bring the kind of rock and indie acts you’d normally have to travel abroad to see. Inspired by the gritty, soulful venues of Brussels and Cologne, the founders built a place that felt raw but electric; a venue where fans could stand just a few metres from world-class artists.
From 300 fans to festival fields
Today, den Atelier is much more than a venue, it’s a movement. Still intimate at 300 capacity, yet bold enough to pull off massive open-air events at Luxexpo, de Atelier has become Luxembourg’s top private concert promoter. Let’s not forget that between 2006 and 2016 den Atelier was responsible for Rock-a-Field, the country’s biggest music festival attracting major international and local artists alike. The venue’s 2025 lineup so far and upcoming says it all: Sting, Green Day, Mumford & Sons, Wolf Alice, Guns N’ Roses, The Black Keys, and that’s just for starters.
Going local
Let’s not forget that den Atelier plays, as it always has, an important role for many Luxembourg acts who are not only able to perform their own gigs on den Atelier stage but also have the opportunity to snag coveted opening act slots for a host of famous bands as big as those mentioned in the previous paragraph!
Fly me to the tune: The Luxair collab
For its big 3-0, den Atelier is reaching new heights, literally, thanks to a vibrant collaboration with Luxair. Both share a love for connection - one through music, the other through travel - so they’ve teamed up to celebrate creativity in motion.
Visual artist Loïc Lusnia has wrapped an entire Luxair aircraft in a one-of-a-kind design that pulses with the rhythm of a live concert. The same energy spills over into den Atelier itself, with fresh murals, reimagined spaces, and even a rooftop artwork you can only spot as planes descend into Findel.
There’s also an exclusive merch drop (think collectible aircraft models and stylish accessories featuring Loïc’s artwork) for those who want a little piece of the sky to take home.
Thirty years, a million memories
To look back (and forward), den Atelier has dropped a special anniversary page on their website packed with photos, throwbacks, and fan stories. Got your own Atelier memory? Share it — the best ones will become part of a redesign reveal coming this October.
The birthday bash of the year
The main anniversary celebration landed on the weekend of 25–26 October 2025, with surprise guests, and DJ sets from the likes of 2manydjs, Don Simon, and Luxembourg's man of the moment NOSI.
Get closer than ever
To mark the milestone, den Atelier has launched a WhatsApp Channel for die-hard fans with backstage peeks, ticket drops, and giveaways rolling out all year long.
So here’s to den Atelier! 30 years young and still rocking Luxembourg’s heartbeat one show at a time!
