FAMIL Jukebox Night - De Gudde Wellen

Forget Spotify, forget your playlists and forget arguing over who gets to pick the next song. This November, Luxembourg's music lovers are getting their very own human jukebox, and they're in charge of the buttons!

The Federation of Luxembourg Performers or Fédération des Musicien(ne)s Interprètes au Luxembourg (FAMIL) is cooking up something a little different with its Jukebox Night, bringing a room full of local music fans together for an evening of homegrown hits, unexpected classics and live musical magic.

Taking place at De Gudde Wëllen on Wednesday, 25 November, the idea is beautifully simple: you help decide what gets played, then pay a few coins to make it happen.

First things first, FAMIL wants to know which Luxembourgish tunes deserve a place in the spotlight. From legendary singalongs and forgotten gems to modern rock monsters and fresh indie favourites, there's no shortage of local talent to choose from. Think of some blasts from the past mixed with present day acts: Angel At My Table, Eternal Tango, Versus You, Tuys, Natas Loves You, Mutiny On The Bounty, Hal Flavin, Seed to Tree, Daniel Balthasar, Francis of Delirium, Josh Island, Schëppe Siwen – or whoever gets your musical vote, the posible list is endless!

Got a favourite? Put it forward here  But it needs to be done before 8 October!

The most popular picks will be handed over to a live band, ready to be reinvented on stage. Special coins will be available on the night, which you can feed into the glowing jukebox tubes dotted around the venue. Got a song you desperately want to hear? Put your money where your musical mouth is! The more coins it collects, the quicker it gets its moment in the spotlight.

As FAMIL president Tun Biever puts it: “Imagine a human Jukebox with Luxembourgish songs only and our scene in the room to put coins in.” Now that's a playlist we'd happily throw a few coins at.

A little music, a lot of solidarity

Of course, there's more to the evening than settling musical scores and shouting for your favourite local anthem. The event is also a chance to support the people who make Luxembourg's music scene tick.

Founded in 2025 by musicians, for musicians, FAMIL is a non-profit organisation representing performing artists across the Grand Duchy. With more than 100 members already on board, it works to improve conditions for performers, defend their rights and help build a stronger, more professional music industry.

The federation also reached an important milestone in June 2026, signing a convention with the Ministry of Culture to help push its mission forward. All fundraising proceeds from Jukebox Night will go directly towards supporting its work.

So, whether you're a die-hard fan of Luxembourgish music, a curious newcomer or simply someone who can't resist a good singalong, this one's for you. And with free entry, there's really no excuse not to show up.

So go to the link now and submit your favourite Luxembourg song!

Mark your calendars: FAMIL Jukebox Night takes place on Wednesday, 25 November, from 7.30pm at De Gudde Wëllen in Luxembourg City. Entry is free, with all fundraising proceeds going towards supporting FAMIL and its work for Luxembourg’s performing musicians. Details can be found in the scene.lu event, and on the Facebook Event.

And finally, check out what FAMIL does on their official website.
