New Year Concert - Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg

In the heart of Europe, Vienna basks in the winds of the east, winds that stir passions and carry the joy of folk dances. Steeped in the most emblematic traditions of their homelands, artists from Russia and Bohemia meet in Vienna, where styles blend and borders dissolve. Waltzes take on exotic touches, giving way to the mazurka and the polonaise, while Gypsy artists fill the cafés with their lively and virtuosic music. In the court of Emperor Franz Joseph, melodies that still resonate today were already being sung, allowing us to taste, with a touch of nostalgia, the splendor of the illustrious imperial salons.

Let us celebrate the new year together, carried away by the inimitable colours coming to us from Eastern Europe and immortalised by the Strauss father and son, Dvorak, Shostakovich, Smetana, Tchaikovsky and more!
