No Metal in This Battle

No Metal In This Battle are a Luxembourg-based instrumental quartet carving out their own space at the crossroads of afrobeat, post-punk, math-rock, and krautrock. Formed in 2011 by seasoned musicians from the country’s underground scene, the band emerged from years of playing in screamo, emocore, and experimental projects, bringing that raw energy into a more groove-driven, rhythm-focused sound.

Blending intricate structures with deep, hypnotic grooves inspired by Nigerian afrobeat, their music is both cerebral and physical—designed as much for movement as for close listening. Known for powerful, immersive live shows, the band leans heavily into improvisation, constantly evolving their material in search of the perfect collective flow.

Their releases, including Paprika and the 2023 album Wie Kraut und Rüben, showcase a genre-defying approach where jagged guitars, driving basslines, and polyrhythmic percussion collide into something unpredictable yet deeply cohesive. At its core, No Metal In This Battle is less about fitting into a scene and more about creating a shared, high-energy experience that transcends genre boundaries.
