Julie Maines is a Brazil-born singer-songwriter whose music moves fluidly between soft pop, folk and indie. Growing up in Brazil, Julie began her musical journey early, learning instruments from the age of eight and developing a strong technical foundation. Songwriting later emerged from her personal creative practices. Writing poetry became a private outlet, and over time, those words found their way into melodies, marking the beginning of her journey as a composer.
A key milestone in her career was the creation of her debut EP, Hey Girl, Have You Seen Her Lately, released at the end of 2025. The project represents her first major step into the music industry as an independent artist, shaping both her artistic identity and her understanding of the realities of an independent musical path.
