Julie Maines

Julie Maines is a Brazil-born singer-songwriter whose music moves fluidly between soft pop, folk and indie. Driven by emotion and atmosphere, her songs are created as intimate spaces where listeners can slow down, connect, and recognise themselves through honest lyrics and gentle melodies. Julie’s work is rooted in emotional storytelling, blending subtle vulnerability with a warm, immersive sound.

Her musical influences shift depending on the emotional world each song inhabits, ranging from the understated softness of Billie Eilish and Birdy to the clarity and confidence of pop artists such as Dua Lipa. She also draws inspiration from the narrative magic of musical theatre and classic animated soundtracks, elements that subtly inform the cinematic quality of her music.

Growing up in Brazil, Julie began her musical journey early, learning instruments from the age of eight and developing a strong technical foundation. Songwriting later emerged from her personal creative practices. Writing poetry became a private outlet, and over time, those words found their way into melodies, marking the beginning of her journey as a composer.

A key milestone in her career was the creation of her debut EP, Hey Girl, Have You Seen Her Lately, released at the end of 2025. The project represents her first major step into the music industry as an independent artist, shaping both her artistic identity and her understanding of the realities of an independent musical path.
