Irîs

Irîs invite you into a realm where pixels and frequencies converge — a symphony of form and sound.

Ambient and experimental electronic music blend with neoclassical, drone, minimalism, noise, industrial and electroacoustic elements. The music of Irîs can roughly be filed under Dystopian Ambient Soundscapes.

Irîs let you immerse yourself in a sonic and visual universe reflecting a unique tapestry of influences.

Many compositions that have seen the light of day since February 2023 have been recorded in one take, without multitracking or overdubs.

The debut album “First Journey” has been released on vinyl in April 2025 (hand numbered edition of 325 copies, pressed via Objects Manufacturing in Berlin) and is currently available in Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, France and Portugal. It can also be ordered via Irîs’ bandcamp page, where it’s available as well digitally, along with two other digital only releases: “The Robot Wars”, the soundtrack to a virtual film or video game, and the most recent outing “Land Of The Rising Sun”, made available in February 2026.

Irîs have also released tracks via Dodendans, a Rotterdam based online label, that launches free compilations on a regular basis, each featuring 10 tracks/artists and focussing on horror themes and (urban) legends.

Irîs further sporadically release tracks (with a symbolic duration of 4’33” in honor of John Cage’s groundbreaking 1952 avant-garde composition in three movements of the same name) via the Institute For Alien Research (IFAR) label, based in Bath (UK).

Since the summer of 2024, Irîs have organized individual exhibitions and participated in group exhibits in Belgium and Luxembourg with abstract visual works based on photos.

Irîs currently work with another artist on a comic magazine that is to be released in May 2026.
