Debbie M

Debbie M is a Luxembourg-based pop artist whose emotion-driven music is shaped by vulnerability, growth, and inner-strength. Her songs unfold gently, built around a soft, delicate voice that carries a lot of feeling. Writing from lived experience, Debbie creates music that feels personal and honest, rooted in moments of uncertainty, connection, and self-discovery. Now firmly rooted in pop, with subtle nods to her orchestral past, she allows her music to evolve alongside her emotions and life. Today, she works closely with creatives in the UK, a collaboration that has become an important part of her artistic journey.

Music has been part of Debbie’s life for as long as she can remember. As a child, she was constantly singing, carrying a toy microphone everywhere and making up lyrics long before she could even speak proper English. At a young age she took music lessons and trained in dance, before quickly shifting her focus toward musical theatre. Her love for the stage led to work across Luxembourg in theatre and classical music projects, where she performed with orchestras including the Luxembourg Military Band and the Luxembourg Philharmonic. However, over time she began to feel disconnected from the roles she was being asked to play. “I realised I was always telling other people’s stories,” she explains. “My emotional home was always in pop music. It’s where feelings have more room and where you can talk about life in a more human way.”

Her debut single, “Hold On To”, became the foundation of her new pop project, Debbie M. The song reflects her belief in holding on to what gives life meaning, whether that’s love, a dream, or a sense of self. “To hold on to something, you need to grow,” Debbie says. “That’s what the song really reflects for me.” The song was written during a songwriting camp in the UK, a moment that quietly changed everything for her. The experience opened her up to co-writing and to a more collaborative way of creating. “The openness of those conversations is everything for me,” Debbie explains. “When people start sharing real stories, that’s when something meaningful usually comes out of it.”

Working with these UK collaborators has become a core part of her journey. It’s helped her step fully into her own voice and sound, one that feels intimate, fragile, and emotionally direct. “My voice carries everything I’ve done so far, like puzzle pieces coming together into one bigger picture,” she says. Inspired by artists like RY X, Ásgeir, Coldplay, Lizzy McAlpine, Maggie Rogers, and AURORA, Debbie is less interested in genre and more interested in creating a sound which is honest, atmospheric and raw.

For Debbie, this project marks a personal and artistic turning point. After years of doubt and feeling boxed into expectations, she is finally telling her own stories, on her own terms. “I want to make music people can truly connect with,” she says. “Music that allows me to tell my own stories without worrying about expectations, and to touch people on a human level.”
