Cosmic Jerk
Music style: Pop-rock Cosi, is the drummer, Motown freak. We love him because his temper keeps us sharp, his beats keep us grooving, and his phone contacts keep us busy.
Jack, is not only the bass player, but he's got also excellent skills behind the recording desk but needs to be reminded every so often that he's really good at it.
Dini is the songwriter, but he's also the singer and rhythm guitarist. His life philosophy is "I need to buy one more guitar, now."
Régis is our lead guitarist. If Cosi, Jack and Dini would represent the colours Red, Yellow and Blue then Régis would be the brush mixing them to create new colours.
Cosi and Jack who have been jamming together met Dini some 25 years ago, when Dini was still playing in a cover band.
Dazzeled by his own compositions they offered Dini a new band where he could be just playing his own stuff.
A thing Dini always wanted to do, and so it all started.
The band has changed a few times the name and also lineups, went through highs and lows but the colors Red, Yellow and Blue always remained, with Régis a professional musician joining in
, it took an entire new dimension and maturity.
Cosmic Jerk's musical palette's rich in colors, it would be unfair to cathegorise it in one genre or another. However let's remain politically correct and just name it Rock.
As for the name:
Cosmic Jerk without being suggestive but suggested by both Dini and Jack as astronomy freaks who got intrigued by the paper of Perlmutter/Schmidt/Riess also named "Cosmic Jerk" which refers
to the point in time (about 5 to 6 billion years ago) when the expansion of the universe shifted from decelerating to accelerating due to dark energy, which eventually got the authors the
Nobel Prize in Physics 2011.
